Recruitment marketing has gotten really good at creating things.
Employer brand stories. EVP content. Career sites. Videos. Job descriptions. Social posts. Campaigns.
But there’s a question we don’t ask often enough:
How does all of that actually get in front of the people you want to hire?
Because great content sitting on a career site isn’t doing much for the person who never visits it.
A brilliant employer brand video doesn’t matter if the right person never sees it.
And a perfectly optimized job description can’t convert someone who never finds the job.
We’ve spent years getting better at the message while often treating distribution as an afterthought.
That needs to change.
The best consumer brands figured this out a long time ago. They don’t sit around waiting for people to find their websites. They put their products where people already spend their time.
Recruitment needs to think the same way.
Your next great hire might be on TikTok. LinkedIn. Instagram. YouTube. Or somewhere else entirely. They may be happily employed and have zero intention of opening a job board today.
That doesn’t mean they aren’t interested in the right opportunity.
It means the opportunity needs to find them.
And this is where our friends at Adway are doing something we think is particularly interesting: turning open roles and employer-brand content into social campaigns that reach people in the feeds where they already spend their time—before they start searching.
That’s an important shift.
Because distribution isn’t just about getting more eyeballs.
It’s about getting the right opportunity in front of the right person at the right moment.
And increasingly, that moment happens before someone thinks, I should probably start looking for a job.
This is also why the future of recruitment marketing isn’t going to be one channel.
It’s going to be an ecosystem.
Paid media can reach people at scale.
Employer brand can give them a reason to care.
Creators and employees can add trust.
Social can create discovery.
Career sites can provide depth.
And technology can connect all of it.
The common thread?
Distribution.
Because you can have the best employer brand in the world.
You can have the most compelling EVP.
You can have the perfect job.
But if it doesn’t travel, it doesn’t matter.
The next evolution of recruitment marketing isn't just creating better content.
It’s making sure that content—and those opportunities—actually go somewhere.
